Pulling on your oversized hoodie, a pair of tights and your fluffy boot/slipper things, you looked in the mirror and sighed.

You felt so guilty, so terrible.

You had said all those words to Francis to save your own dignity, it was so selfish.
You closed your eyes, and his crestfallen expression flickered into your mind. Your eyes snapped open.

You had so many things to say to him, but not enough courage to.

Im sorry…

I didn't mean it…

I love you…

You picked up your cell phone and dialled his number, he promised you that you would still be friends right?
This was just a little fall out between friends, so you should apologize, there's no point in wasting a friendship, right?

You gave up.

You didn't want it to be a just a friendship, you didn't want to be just friends.

Even though you tried to tell yourself differently, you'd never think otherwise.

You sighed, and clambered downstairs. Slumping on your couch, you turned on the TV, the screen flickered to life and you tried to get your mind off today.

"-As you can see, a lot of heavy rain is to be expected" said the weather man, pointing to ominous clouds.

The news switched over to commercials.

It was a new cooking one, a man in a shameful chef hat made some dish with a lot of lettuce.

"-And that's how you can make an easy and delicious salad! The kids will love you for it!" he said

"Kids have never loved you for a salad!" you shouted

:::Francis's POV:::

I sprinted up the street, I had to take an alternative road, since the main one was flooded.

The houses looked vaguely familiar, somehow I knew I was going the right way.

I just knew.

I turned, corner after corner, block after block, occasionally slipping on the wet ground.
Then I saw it, her street.

The rain battered against me, the wind pushed me back, but it was just the weather, it wasn't going to stop, I had the feeling that nothing could.

I saw her driveway, and sprinted up it. I was desperate, I stumbled up the stairs.

"Ma chère! Open the door Please!"

No reply.

I rushed back and grabbed the key hidden in the pot plant, fumbling with it I unlocked the door.

She was just opening it as I entered, she yelped in supplies.

Without hesitating I wrapped my arms around.

Those few hours were the loneliest in my life, and I didn't want to let her go again anytime soon.

"Please forgive me." I started, my throat felt dry, and my eyes stung "Please"

"Francis I-"

"No! Im sorry!" I cut her off before she could do the same to me, If I had actually told her the truth in our previous conversation, she wouldn't have gone through this. "Im so sorry, I wont give another woman a glance if it is not you! I would not leave you for anyone in the world, and even if I did, it would not be a second before I come crawling back to you!"

"Francis-"

"Please, Im sorry! I'll change, Just please…Please! Can I stay with you, can we stay together, please…"

"Francis I – I" she stuttered

:::Addrianna's (Your) POV:::

You searched and searched for words.

All the things You wanted to say were lined up in your mind, they were practically tripping over each other to be said.

"Shut Up!" You snapped "You shouldn't have come here, through that for me"  you pointed to the torrential rain "Theres a storm out there and you friggin ran through it, even after I-after I was such an ass! Francis, Im so sorry" Tears welled behind your eyes and spilled over freely. "Im so sorry, so sorry I didn't mean-I mean I-Im sorry!" You were blabbering like and idiot. You couldn't control what you were saying.

:::Francis's POV:::

I stared at her as she apologized over and over again.

My precious little flower.

She can carry the heaviest burdens. She sings when she feels like screaming, she smiles when she feels like crying, she laughs when she's afraid and she cries when she's happy.

There's only one thing wrong with her.

She forgets what she's worth.  So I pulled her closer, and from now on, Im going to be there to remind her.

"Ma chère, stop crying…Please? Your tears should not be waisted on me!"

"Shut Up! I can waste my tears on whoever I want, you-you" she began crying again, but her protest were muffled as I hugged her into my chest.

And so we sat, In her hallway. She was crying, and I tried my best to soothe her.

A violent shiver went through my body and I sneezed.

She instantly popped up, out of my hug.

"Francis, are you ok?"

I was now shivering non-stop, the fact that I was saturated was shortly forgotten.

"Here" she offered me a hand with another sad, guilty smile. "Do you need to call your folks.

"It is advised that everyone should stay where they are, and keep it that way until this weather clears" interrupted a man from the Television

"Even If I could return home, they are on a business trip overseas." I replied.

She gave me an apologetic smile.

"This way then"

:::Addrianna's (Your) POV:::

You led Francis to the shower, and carried the spare change of clothes he had with him to the laundry.

They were tucked in his bag while his uniform got drenched, they were wet but not as much.

You threw them in the drier.

You laughed to yourself, you felt like a wife doing the laundry. Realizing what you had just said, you slapped yourself in the forehead.

…But, he had just visited you in the pouring rain, just to apologize. You thought. Maybe being his wife wouldn't be so bad.

You slapped yourself in the forehead again.

You laughed quietly to yourself as the sound of the shower could still be heard from down stairs.

He was taking a long shower, but I suppose he deserved it. Especially if he could be at risk of influenza or pneumonia because of you.

The drier had finished drying, so you place the clothes in a pile outside the door.

"You still alive in their Francis?" you called

"Yes, Ma chère, Im sorry, I will-"

"Nah, Its fine, no worries! Your clothes are outside the door."

There was a pause

"Thank you" He said gratefully and honestly. You could just tell by his tone.

You smiled and pottered downstairs into the kitchen. Making up two Hot-Chocolates.

You noticed the water had stopped and you heard footsteps.

"Ma chère?" he called

"In the kitchen!"

You came out and handed him his hot chocolate. He smiled a thanks before sitting down.

It was an unspoken detail that Francis would have to stay here tonight. With that raging storm outside, It would be the smart thing to do.

"Do you want a blanket or something?" you asked

"N-No, its fine" He said hesitantly.

You stared for a second. "I'll go get you a blanket" you decided

"No, its fine, you've done more than enough"

Ignoring him, you went and got a blanket. You threw it at him, and sat beside him, sipping on your Hot-chocolate.

He smiled and placed the blanket over both of you, and you two began to chat.

"-Once again, Ma chère, im so, so sor-"

"Hey! Its all right!" you said slowly "Everything's ok, enough with the apologizing"

He smiled at you, and the chat continued.

Night arrived and it was still raining.

You yawned and stood up "Come with me" you said, signalling for him to follow you

You led him upstairs into your bedroom.

"Your gonna sleep here" you said

He nodded, you could tell he was tired.

He layed down in the bed while you went and got some extra blankets.

Not only was it raining, it was friggin cold!

Here you said laying the blanket down, he admired you as you did so.

"Good-night" you said smiling, then went to exit the room

"Ah! Wait! Ma chère, where are you going!?" he said

"Downstairs" you said confused

"Why?"

"The couch"

"The couch, I cannot allow you to sleep on the couch!"

"Well then I'll sleep on the floor" you sat down "Pass me a pillow"

"No! You cannot sleep on the floor either"

"…But…But its my house!" You said standing up, before a pair of arms were whisked around you.

Before you knew it, you were pulled into the bed to

"Francis!"

"Shhh…" he hushed you

You sighed in defeat "Fine" you felt him smile "But if you try anything…Im just warning you I-"

"Ma chère, don't worry, I do not believe in forced love, how many times do I have to tell you"

You smiled, and you just rested there, his arms still around your waist.

After a while, you turned and flicked the lamp off, you couldn't sleep with the light on.

Francis gave a muffled protest of your sudden movement. You laughed at him.

"Hey Francis?"

"Yeah"

"Are you still awake?"

"No"

You laughed. "Hey, you know that I love you right?"

There was a pause "Really?"

"Really"

"I don't believe you"

"What!?"

"Parler Français" he said in French

You sighed

"Vous Cannaissez Je T'aime, Non?"

"Je Fais" He chuckled "Je T'aime Duex"

He pulled you closer to him, and kissed your forehead, you grinned and kissed him on the lips.
He returned the favour.

You both pulled back and you smiled.

He rested his forehead on yours and you fell asleep to the steady sound of his breathing.

You didn't know how you Ever fell asleep without that, but then again you didn't know a lot of things.

But you did know one thing, those words he said to you…

…He Meant Them…
